Yours Always

Hi Everyone! Just a quick post today sharing a card I made for the upcoming holiday (I admit I have a wedding to go to on Saturday and this card would fit that occasion too!)

I cut a piece of Ranger Mixed Media cardstock for the card front.  I suppose it might have been a bit easier to color the roses if I had used Watercolor paper but I'm still amazed at the depth of color you can get on the Mixed Media paper.
I used a Mini Stencil from set #6 and Antique Linen Distress ink for the background.  The smaller size of the Mini Stencils makes the scale of the "love" words just perfect for a card front.
I stamped the image of the rose with Archival Jet Black over the the inked background.  I think this new set CMS255 Lady Rose is spectacular!  The roses are perfect for coloring!

With all the excitement over the Distress Crayons, I haven't used my Distress Markers lately.  It was nice to grab my Detailer Water Brush, a few favorite colors of pink and gold to create roses that resemble the ones grown in my yard as child.  I colored the two colors of pink first and then went back and added the gold (I made sure the paper was dry before adding the gold).
I used the Distress Marker Spritzer and a Gathered Twigs Distress Marker to add the ink splatter across the card front.  I also added a bit of Stickles Glitter Glue over the top of the roses for a slight shimmer.
I wanted to try these new Yupo sheets made for Alcohol Ink.  I'm using translucent today but it also comes in white cardstock.
If you have never used Yupo (like me) I can tell you it's a smooth, synthetic surface and it is super thin.  I colored it with a layer of Mushroom Alcohol ink (using a felt on the Blending Tool) then added a layer of gold Alcohol ink over the top.  You can see here just how translucent the paper is before coloring with the Alcohol Inks.
I used the new "Lace" Thinlit to cut a couple lengths of lace edging.  Really, really beautiful because the detail is so fine!  You can probably imagine how nicely the translucent Yupo cuts when run through the Vagabond (like butter).
The Watch Cameo was the perfect ending to the card.  One thing I like is that there is a pattern for the circle (and the oval) on the packaging.  I hate cutting circles so this makes it easy.
I added a bit of Pumice stone distress paint and gold alcohol ink onto the metal.  Once dry, I used the template to cut the paper center and added the words from Small Talk Occasions sticker book.  An epoxy circle is included in the package so the Watch Cameo can have a professional look without much work at all.
Now I've got to get back to helping this little one make Valentines for school.  I have a lot of doilies to cut! (but she has the inking and gluing down pat).

now carry,
paula
