Houston Quilt Market - part 1

I left Dallas last Friday and flew to Houston for Quilt Market.  After my shuttle to the hotel, I walked over to the convention center to get things set up.  Much of the prep work was done before I even got there by Dave, who sets up and takes down the booth for us.  He is great to work with and seems to be able to solve any problem that arises...like one big framed wood wall that wasn't supposed to be there.  We worked it out and got it fixed up as best we could with such short notice.  Thanks Super Dave (aka my problem solver).
We were showing the same fabric that was released at spring market which was not a problem because not everyone goes to every show.  So many people just stopped dead in their tracks when they saw the booth in person (I think it was the chair that got them every time).
So sit back... and prepare to be inspired!

This quilt was at the last market...still love the pattern so much!
And one last quilt.  This quilt was made the Nancy Roelfsema from Notions Marketing.  We worked Tim's booth together at the show.  Nancy brought the quilt since she made it using Tim's fabric.  I love how she combined Tim's fabric with solids and small prints to create this masterpiece.  I also learned that the block with the points (New York Beauty) are Nancy's specialty.
I took some detail shots of the quilt blocks so you could see her amazing machine quilting skills.

Well, that's it for Tim's booth at quilt market.  It was an amazing show!  Super fun to be on the floor talking to people about the fabric - so many great comments too!
My Quilt Market report is not over...I will be back soon with a few more pictures of the show floor but until then, a little give away.   I couldn't leave the show empty handed...so I have a few design rolls to give away.  Just leave me a comment and I will post the winners on Monday morning.

carry on,
paula

  34. Wow! So much to drool over! I love the apron and the boot. I have an old toddler shoe of my mother's that would be perfect for that project. Also, I would love to make a quilt for my father and add transfers of pics of the two of us when I was young. I've already made my sibling's quilts with pics, and I have the material for my Mom's which is next, but I don't have the material yet for my father's. Tim's material would be perfect for the job!

  41. Back in the 60's (I know, I know) in Northern Rhodesia (aaargh) which was on the cusp of becoming Zambia, I sat with my Mom who saved her precious spools of imported Coats thread for "special" projects and my school dresses. Fast forward 50 years or so- wish I could import these genius pieces. All of them. Can't even sew a straight line, but so inspired! It will be the die cutter and glue for me.
