I am still away but thought I could post a short little project till I get back

Use a glue stick to adhere vintage music paper to parenthesis shape.  Making sure to cover all areas and edges.  Burnish with bone folder and let dry.

After glue is dry, paint a thin coat of Mod Podge or Claudine Helmuth's Multi medium over surface. Set aside to dry.  Don't worry... 95 percent small bubbles you see will disappear in the drying process.  Just like magic!  But remember, a THIN coat and don't over work the medium.

Once the medium in dry, take a sliver Sharpie marker and line the edges of the board.

Use your blending tool to ink board with Distress ink.  This step can be done BEFORE the silver marker if you want a shiner edge.

NOTE: Because you coated the music paper with Mod Podge you can wipe away the ink before it dries.  So if you get too much ink on the board just take a baby wipe or a damp paper towel and wipe it off.  It's a fun technique to experiment layering your Distress Ink colors.  And if you don't like it...wipe it off and start again.  You can try acrylic paint with this method too.

Oval template-
Go to the computer and create an oval shape.  Just open a new document and from the formatting pallet pick, "add objects".  From there you should see an icon with some shapes.  Pick the circle and a + will appear on you document.  Click on the document and a circle will appear.  Drag the tiny boxes to create an oval just the size you want.  Save the document and print.  I keep all the templates I make, no matter how easy in a file marked templates.  It is amazing to me how many times I use that file.
I will say, your Word program might be newer than mine, so the instructions might be a bit different but hopefully these are close.

Cut out the oval template

Use the template to cut a piece of chipboard

Cover the chipboard with a piece of Bazzill Dotted Swiss paper

Squeeze some Glossy Accents on the edge

"flatten" out the glue with an old paint brush 

(you MUST was the paint brush right away or it will become like a rock)

Add glitter to the edge.  I wanted an old look so I used glass glitter that will age with time, but you can use whatever you have on hand.  Remember, if you do you glass glitter, it is just that...GLASS.  So be very careful not to touch your eyes during use and wash your hands right away.  Never use glass glitter with children.

Glitter of choice when I don't use glass- Stampendous Halo glitter - extra fine- gold

Back to the board that should be dry now.

You need two holes at the top, evenly spaced.  I used the 7gypsies Bindery Punch, but you can use a Crop-a-dile to punch through the book board.

Finishing the oval-

Add some vintage flowers to the center of the oval with strips of gaffer tape.  I added an old scrap of lace that was on my desk.  Really, you could add about anything you like.

I added thin foam tape to the back side to raise up the oval before adding to the board so I would have a small space to add in some vintage crepe paper.  This probably would have been smarter to add the foam tape before I added the bulky flowers to the front.  Oh, well.

I squeezed a little glue under the oval and then just gathered the crepe paper as I turned the piece.

Add ribbon to the top (it takes about a yard)

Then I thought it needed a bit more so I punched a hole with the small hole on the crop-a-dile very close to the bottom point and added a crystal dangle with an extra brown bead from my junk pile.

I could be totally done right now, but I had these Bling Brads on my desk from my friend Sally (Delish Designs).  These are the best brads on the market.  Super heavy and in all honesty look more like real jewelry than scrapbooking brads.  Anyway, I just thought they could find a home here.
